Champions League Best Bets #5 (Nov. 26, 2024-Nov. 27, 2024):

Welcome in to Champions League Best Bets, brought to you by Bettor In Green, where we recap the latest Champions League action and look ahead with my favorite bets for the upcoming matches.

Recap:

The last matchweek had a few upsets, with Real Madrid losing to AC Milan at home, Sporting CP crushing Manchester City 4-1, and Atletico Madrid getting a last minute goal to beat PSG while on the road.

Liverpool continue their strong start, going 4-0-0 to start the campaign, as do Brest in their first UCL campaign, who are 3-1-0.

As for our Best Bets, we went 1-2, missing Man City and the Under in the Young Boys / Shakhtar match, although we did hit our Atalanta bet. We also hit 3 of our 4 bonuses, including a nice +155 with both Monaco and with Inter.

Upcoming Matches:

The great thing about the League Phase of the UCL is that we get big matchups between some of Europe’s top clubs. This week, we see marquee matches between Bayern Munich and PSG on Tuesday and between Liverpool and Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Let’s get to the bets:

Best Bets:

Pick #1: 2-Leg Parlay: Atletico Madrid Moneyline and AC Milan Moneyline -105 (Nov. 26, 2024; 12:45 p.m. EST):

For our first bet I’m looking at the opening two matches on Tuesday, particularly at the Sparta Prague v Atletico Madrid match.

Atletico Madrid are on a 5-match win streak and are finally looking like the team we expected them to be to start the season.

They travel to Sparta Prague, who sit 4th in their domestic league and 26th in the UCL. Sparta Prague are also winless in their last 4. They now face Atletico Madrid right as they’ve grown into form.

I’ve parlayed this with AC Milan, who play Slovan Bratislava, who currently sit last in the standings having lost all 4 matches. Milan should have the firepower and pedigree to beat the UCL newcomers, even on the road.

Pick #2: Barcelona to Win to Nil -115 (Nov. 25, 2024; 3:00 p.m. EST):

For our next bet we look to a Barcelona team that has scored more goals than any other club in the UCL so far this season, taking on Brest, who have had an incredible start to their first UCL season, sitting in 4th.

I have been fading the newcomers this season, including Brest to my dismay, but think they are due for a bit of a reality check in the Champions League. They currently sit 12th in Ligue One, while Barcelona are first in La Liga and scoring goals for fun.

Barcelona haven’t been great as far as clean sheets, only managing 4 in 14 La Liga games and 1 in the UCL. Still, I think they’ll dominate Brest and will only allow a few chances.

Pick #3: Borussia Dortmund Moneyline -135 (Nov. 26, 2024; 3:00 p.m. EST):

For our final bet, I’m backing a Borussia Dortmund side to break their current bad run of away form and get a win on the road.

Their opponents, Dinamo Zagreb, are 4th for goals conceded in their domestic league, despite sitting 3rd in the league table.

Dortmund have been streaky, mostly because of their home and away form. They’ve only won 1 match away from home this season, against Club Brugge in the UCL. They’ve struggled in the Bundesliga away from home, but are coming off a big 4-0 victory against Freiburg last weekend and should be ready to face Zagreb, who are set to face their toughest challenge since losing 9-2 to Bayern Munich earlier this year.

Bonus:

A few other bets I like this week are:

  • AS Monaco Moneyline +120

  • Celtic Moneyline +100

  • Viktor Gyökeres to Score or Assist +110 (Sporting CP)

Season Record:

Best Bets: 5-7
