English Premier League Best Bets: Matchweek 36 (May 10, 2025 - May 11, 2025):

Welcome to English Premier League Soccer Best Bets, where we break down the latest action in the English Premier League (EPL) and my favorite bets for the upcoming matches, providing quality content that is accessible to new fans and engaging to old and new fans alike.

For an overview of what to expect in this Bettor in Green Article Series, check out my EPL Season Preview and Futures article here.

Recap:

The season is drawing to a close but there is plenty of drama yet to unfold in the EPL. While we already know Liverpool are champions and Southampton, Ipswich Town, and Leicester City will be relegated.

While the top and bottom of the table are set, there is still plenty to play for in the race for the European qualification places.

If you’ve followed my articles over these past few weeks, this will be old news. If you’re new, the top 4 or 5 EPL places make next season’s Champions League, the most coveted club-soccer competition in the world.

There are also spots available in the Europa League and Conference League, with a Europa place given to the FA Cup winner and 6th in the EPL, and a Conference League spot reserved for Newcastle, as EFL Cup winners, and will drop to next EPL place if Newcastle finishes in a Champions League or Europa League spot.

To make a long story short, finishing in the top 7-8 places, and particularly in the top 5, will be critically important, and the race for those spots is arguable tighter than it’s ever been.

In that race, it’s not been looking good for Nottingham Forest, while Manchester City seem to be on their usual late-season push.

Our Best Bets went 2-1, on Villa and Brentford, losing City -1.5, as they only won by 1 goal.

We stayed hot Across the Globe, going 4-1.

Upcoming Matches:

This weekend kicks off on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. EST.

We have 5 matches on Saturday, with the marquee match of Bournemouth (8th) hosting Aston Villa (7th).

There are 5 matches on Sunday, starting at 7:00 a.m. EST with Newcastle (4th) hosting Chelsea (5th), with both teams tied on points in the table. The final match of the weekend is Liverpool hosting Arsenal, with Arsenal’s hold on 2nd place at jeopardy.

Let’s get to the bets:

Best Bets:

Pick #1: Fulham Moneyline -115 (May 10, 2025; 10:00 a.m. EST):

Last week, we successfully faded Fulham in their match against Villa. However, Fulham made it quite nervy, with some decent chances from Fulham.

While there’s plenty of talk about the race for top 5, there’s also a fascinating race for 8th, which is looking like it should end up with a Conference League spot. Fulham were in 8th to start last week and now sit in 11th, fighting with Bournemouth, Brentford, and Brighton.

Playing European competition at any level is a great achievement and comes with a financial boost, as well as a boost for recruitment. Fulham will be fighting hard for the spot.

Ryan Sessegnon is looking more like the version of himself when he burst onto the scene during his first spell with Fulham, picking up 5 goal contributions within the last month.

Everton, their opponents, have been better since David Moyes took over in January, though they’ve only managed 3 clean sheets in the 17 matches they’ve played during his tenure.

Pick #2: Brighton and Hove Albion Moneyline +145 (May 10, 2025; 10:00 a.m. EST):

My next bet is similar in logic, backing another team in the race for 8th, Brighton.

Last week, we faded Wolves and predicted their first loss in 7 matches, though we couldn’t cover our goal spread in that bet. Wolves have done superbly since Vitor Pereira took over, securing safety from relegation and climbing up the table to 13th.

While Wolves have turned it on as of late, they really have little left for which to play. Brighton, on the other hand, are competing for 8th and a possible Conference League spot and will be hungry for all 3 points against a team in the bottom half of the table.

Brighton beat West Ham two weeks ago to snap a 6-match winless streak. They then secured a decent 1-1 draw against Newcastle, leading the match until a late penalty brought Newcastle level.

Brighton have been tough to predict for me this season, but they’ve got more motivation than Wolves to pick up the points, before hosting Liverpool and then traveling to Spurs for the final match.

Pick #3: Crystal Palace to Win Either Half -140 (May 11, 2025; 9:15 a.m. EST):

For my final bet, I’m fading the club I support, Tottenham Hotspur, backing Palace to Win Either Half.

This match is interesting, as it is not the primary focus for these clubs. Palace is playing in the FA Cup final next Saturday against Manchester City, with a Europa League spot on the line if they win, along with the trophy of course.

Similarly, Spurs are fresh off a victory in the Europa League against Bodø/Glimt, which was played in Norway, above the arctic circle. They’re now set to play the Europa League final on May 21 against Manchester United. With Tottenham and United both having miserable seasons, they’ll be desperate to win the Europa League, which comes with a Champions League place for next season.

While neither side has much left in the EPL, Crystal Palace are looking to beat their record points tally, which they could achieve this weekend. They’ll also look to use this match as a way to prepare for the FA Cup final this Saturday.

The other reason I like this bet is the dynamic Palace attack with Eze, Sarr, and Mateta. Spurs will likely rest some players, including defenders, after traveling back from Norway and may struggle at the back.

Feeling confident? Try Crystal Palace Moneyline +145.
