The draft is the foundation to a good fantasy team, but a championship team is active on the waiver wire to capitalize on shifting opportunity shares and emerging talent. Each week, I’ll give you a breakdown of my favorite adds in fantasy football. The order I list the players doesn't matter as I believe the players you select off this list should be based off position of need and other team unique factors. Regardless, these are always hot players of the week worth boosting your team. This week we are at the point in the season when the wire is starting to dry. 8 team leagues still have potential but 10 and 12 team leagues and above are honestly struggling. This list as always will try to help you get an advantage in any way possible while trying to account for these factors.
Cedric Tillman/Elijah Moore, WRS, Cleveland Browns
Tillman and Moore have both greatly benefitted from the departures of Watson and Cooper. Winston is slanging that thang and the primary beneficiary of the red zone targets and big plays would be Tillman while Moore is looked at as the sticks mover on short and intermediate routes. I included both for those reasons above plus while Tillman is rostered in my 12 team league Moore is not. Moore is a good floor play while Tillman is the ceiling. Pick whichever one is available in your leagues with that in mind.
Kalif Raymond, WR, Detroit Lions
Especially in leagues where return yards are credited, Raymond is a great stash. I think after one more game when Jameson Williams comes back Raymond will find himself more relegated to special teams duty again but once more this is great if you play in those leagues. The Detroit Lions special teams and defense have taken a hit for sure with Hutchinson out, however, the team still looks explosive on both sides of the ball. In regular game settings I don't anticipate Raymond having much more use or value outside of what he is already offering especially with Jameson back in the mix soon.
John Metchie, WR, Houston Texans
Diggs is potentially done for the season and Collins is still out at the moment. Metchie is as good a dart throw as anyone for an increased workload. Metchie had buzz and hype coming out in 2022 until a cancer diagnosis unfortunately ended his rookie season before it even started. Now two years removed from this and more time learning the book and how the organization functions could bode well for Metchie to take advantage of newfound opportunities.
Honorable Mentions: Adam Trautman, Jameis Winston, Courtland Sutton, Jakobi Meyers.
