Fantasy Stock Market: Week 6

The waiver wire is a blast every week but nothing feels the same as pulling off a trade! Finding the right compensation can be tough and coming to an agreement is even harder. While we would all love to trade for Justin Jefferson, these articles are based around players that with the right compensation, are attainable. Each week throughout the season, I'll give you buy and sell candidates.

BUY

Jordan Addison, WR, Minnesota Vikings

Addison put up a disappointing 5.10 points in half PPR in the Jets game and now the team is on bye. Take advantage of this, previous games missed due to injury this season, and the fact few people know his trial for DUI stemming from an incident this past summer has now been moved to December 3rd. Addison will not face suspension most likely until next season as December 3rd is late in the fantasy season and the NFL will wait for any legal proceedings to finish before doling out punishment. Historically first time alcohol offenders like Addison usually start the season off with a three game suspension. Darnold had a down game against an elite defense while jet lagged overseas and a lot of people now think the sky is falling. Redraft is an easy smash but especially in dynasty, you won't find a cheaper time to buy Addison. The talent is there, the numbers are there, everything is there. Risks are too of course but with the threat of suspension firmly out of the way this season I'm buying.

Mark Andrews, TE, Baltimore Ravens

Andrews posted his best game of the season thus far with 9 points in half PPR. He would have had an even better day if an errant touchdown pass would have connected with him but this helps us. He is still very frustrating for owners and this presents possibly our last buy low opportunity this season. Once again in dynasty his value is cratered and if you still believe this is your last chance. Redraft is trickier due to injury rehab he is currently undergoing but I believe as the season goes on he will get more confidence and ability back. With the exception of Cleveland and Denver the ROS schedule looks like the Ravens could be in fast paced shootouts relying more on the aerial attack. Especially against Washington, Tampa Bay, and Cincinnati the Ravens will have to throw more and Andrews should be a big beneficiary. The talent and ability are there and he has proven he is an elite tight end on a high powered offense.

Jaylen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles

Since 2021 the worst finish Hurts has had would be the overall QB 9 in half PPR in 2021. 2022 was QB 3 and 2023 was QB 2. He's started off slow this season and many managers might be frustrated. In superflex or two QB leagues he is a perfect trade target. He is also bolstered by coming off a bye already so you don't have to worry about that. He will also have Smith and Brown back together on the field at the same time reuniting him with a full arsenal of weapons. Probe the Hurts team where they are hurt and offer up a surplus position or picks in dynasty to acquire an elite QB at a heavy discount before he pops off this weekend.

SELL

Rico Dowdle, RB, Dallas Cowboys

Dowdle just had his best performance of the season and especially in dynasty I'm selling higher than Willie Nelson. Redraft is based off your team needs and standing currently but even there I'm not trusting Dowdle long term. He's a good flex play or bye week filler but after last performance I'm seeing wild takes that he's the lead back for the foreseeable future on the Cowboys and a long term plan. If someone is believing this I'm looking to capitalize and get whoever I think is better at a position of need. He will be inconsistent rest of season and a pain to own once again especially in dynasty. In redraft there is more motivation to keep depending on league size and depth but once again a good price you like should result in no hesitation to move on from a boom or bust unstable asset.

Josh Downs, WR, Indianapolis Colts

He's banged up but still anticipated to play and Richardson is coming back presenting a giant mystery box. If anyone is point chasing off his average points per game and what he's done before I'm bailing quick. Dynasty or redraft, package him up and get rid of him. Plenty of people still believe he can produce and plenty also think Flacco will be back sooner than later but I don't anticipate the Colts benching Richardson anytime soon regardless of performance as reps and real game time is what he needs most to get better. Until that happens though, Colts pass catchers will be unreliable and inconsistent producers which can sink your ship quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Raheem Mostert, RB, Miami Dolphins

Mostert is back and put up a respectable 10 points last game. This has reignited the hype train that he will finish close to or around his previous finish last year as RB2. This is laughable as he is 32 years old with 9 years in the league and a lot of wear and tear. In the same breath people will say every year he's with the Lions David Montgomery is turning into a pumpkin and can't continue his touchdown streak on a way better offense with a way better line and believe simultaneously Mostert can with inferior resources. He can't. Achane is not going to miss time after leaving with a concussion at the best possible time which is heading into a bye. Wright had an impressive showing as well and is younger, faster, and more explosive. 13 rushes for 86 yards at an impressive 6.62 YPC clip. Mostert's success last year was an extreme outlier heavily built upon touchdowns and sparse usage as his previous best finish in 9 years before this was RB23 in 2019. Take advantage of hype, Tua's return, etc. etc. and get a way better player you can actually rely on in your lineups. Let everyone else pay the luxury tax on a busted back.
