FITTING THE NFL MOLD
Ideally, a WRs height will be between 6'1" and 6'3" and he will weigh somewhere between 205 and 215 lbs. Bech fits right in with the prototypical WR size so he should have no issue with transitioning to the next level. The three greatest predictors of NFL success for WRs in the combine are the 40 Yard Dash, the 3-Cone Drill, and the Vertical Jump. These test a players speed as well as their ability to high point a ball. Bech didn't compete in all the Combine events and the ones he did compete in; he didn't stand out.
COLLEGE PRODUCTION
Two factors that scouts will raise red flags on are if a receiver has multiple 100+ reception seasons along with injuries and if they play in air-raid or spread heavy systems. Bech played in college for 4 seasons and only saw starter snaps his senior year. His senior year, he was a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award; an award recognizing the best receiver. It does raise some red flags that he wasn't able to receive much work in his three seasons before that.
WATCHING THE TAPE
Bech's best trait is his ability to snag 50/50 balls. He isn't very fast and struggles to create separation from defenders. He is a decent route runner and uses the whole route tree. Once he catches the ball, he has strong hands and defenders are rarely able to knock the ball out of his clutch. He fights through contact to create extra yardage, and it makes him dangerous on the goal line.
THE LANDING SPOT
Bech lands on a team where he should get to see a good amount of playing time in his rookie year. He will automatically slot in behind Meyers but could win the WR 2 job against Tre Tucker over the course of training camp. Geno is a capable QB but isn't a long-term solution meaning more questions are ahead for Bech.
WHERE TO DRAFT HIM
In redraft leagues Bech should be either a late flyer selection or shouldn't be drafted at all. He is likely best fitted as a mid to late season waiver add. In dynasty rookie drafts, Bech is best suited as a third-round selection.
