Best NBA Player Props 3/11

Coby White flexing as the crowd cheers
By: Harvey Glassbrook, SI

March has arrived, which means March Madness is closing in. However, the NBA betting world still deserves our attention. Unfortunately, last week only one of our props hit, but because the other two players didn't play. Keyonte George and Wendell Carter Jr. were both late scratches, which led to LeBron James as the only participant in the parlay.

The replacements for George and Carter both hit the line that they were both assigned. LeBron luckily hit his assists prop with ease to save the night. Hopefully, there will be no late scratches and we can go perfect on the player props for tonight's six-game slate.

Jamal Murray Over 22.5 Points (-106)

The Denver Nuggets are rolling on all cylinders right now. They have only lost one game after the All-Star break, an overtime thriller against the Phoenix Suns. They run through Nikola Jokic, the MVP favorite, but there is also Jamal Murray.

Murray has been spectacular in the second half of the season. He is averaging 23.9 points per game on 53.9% shooting from the field and 48.8% from three post the All-Star break. He has been on fire as they play the Toronto Raptors tonight.

The Raptors have been struggling as of late. They lost their All-Star, Scottie Barnes, and have become a poor defensive team. Over their last 10 games, the Raptors are tied for the third most points allowed per game. Teams are making just below 15 threes a game against them in that same stretch.

The Nuggets are hot and just smoked the Utah Jazz at home from the opening tip. Even in the blowout, Murray put up 37 points.  Tonight's matchup can get ugly for the Raptors, but I have faith in Murray hitting the over for another game.

Brandon Miller 20+ Points (-135)

If Victor Wembanyama didn't exist, Brandon Miller would have a good shot at winning Rookie of the Year. He has been really good as a rookie all season for the Charlotte Hornets and is making a case to be the franchise guy for them instead of LaMelo Ball. Miller has been flying under the radar for most of the season.

Tonight he matches up with the Detroit Pistons; a historically bad team. Miller in his last five games, has scored 20+ points in four of them. In that same stretch, the Pistons are allowing the fourth most points per game. Furthermore, in two games against the Pistons, Miller is averaging 20 points.

The Hornets should not be in the business of wanting to win these games. They should be focused on getting their young players of the future as many opportunities as possible. Miller should be the focal point for the remainder of the season and that can be put to the test against this awful Pistons team.

Coby White 20+ Points (-170)

The Dallas Mavericks have been awful on defense all year, but it seems it has gotten progressively worse. They have no answers on defense for anyone. They are a bottom 10 team in points allowed for the entire season but are bottom three in their last 10 games. I think tonight Coby White will take advantage of this putrid defense.

White has been great this season and has a chance at winning Most Improved Player of the Year. Before the season, White seemed like a forgotten player and someone who would hold no staying power in this league. However, White is averaging almost 20 points per game after averaging only 9.7 points per game last season.

He went through a little slump, but he is picking it back up as of late. In his last five games, White has scored 20+ points in four of them with a 37-point explosion against the Sacramento Kings. The Mavericks have no one to guard White at all. They are struggling and White should expose their weaknesses.

At -170, that is too low for a player with the chance of exploding for a big game against a team that can't seem to get stops. If you are feeling frisky, I would say to the ladder his points to 30+ for a sprinkle. However, we are playing it safe and rolling with 20+ points for Coby White.
