Fantasy Stock Market: Week 5

ree

The waiver wire is a blast every week but nothing feels the same as pulling off a trade! Finding the right compensation can be tough and coming to an agreement is even harder. While we would all love to trade for JCM, alright I can't pretend anymore. That guy might actually suck. Moving on, last week if you read this article you'd be rid of Tyreek Hill before catastrophic injury and David Montgomery before his stinker. I'd say that's pretty darn good if I had those guys. In any case, let's look at who's available with the right compensation.

BUY

Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints

This is disgusting but hear me out. He's the number 1 receiver on this team and he's playing a lot of snaps and getting an amazing amount of targets. The targets aren't the best quality but provide a safe floor. The Saints have played some decent defenses so far but the last half of the schedule really lightens up and if you're thinking about playoffs, which you should be doing already, Olave has a sexy playoff schedule. Add in just one touchdown here and there and suddenly the numbers pop more. He's dirt cheap and most owners are frustrated right now.

Kenneth Walker, RB, Seattle Seahawks

I still believe. Walker is now increasing his snap share to at least 50% in the last two games and he's already the number 16 running back in half ppr. This is with Charbonnet being a thorn in his side. This is still a team that is devoid of pass catchers behind JSN and a team that loves time of possession. Walker still passes the eye test too, and his matchups in playoffs down the line might secure a championship for you.

Bengals Players

This is the last time this season I will tell you this. Jake Browning isn't a savior and he's not good, don't get it twisted. However, the defenses he's faced have been the worst possible for a 2nd string QB making starts this season. Look at playoffs and tell me that schedule doesn't have you salivating and floating like an old timey cartoon character going to a pie in the window? Dolphins, Ravens twice, Cardinals, and the Bills. Teams that are not exactly defensive juggernauts. Browning was actually serviceable in 2023 last time we experienced this issue with Burrow and made both Higgins and Chase potential league winners if you had them that year. I'm hearing reports of all sorts of nonsense going down in trading for Bengals players so they are cratered right now. Chase Brown is a good target too.

SELL

Romeo Doubs, WR, Green Bay Packers

You already know everything I'm going to say. He's not the most talented receiver there and his touchdowns aren't sustainable. There are other pass catchers that are going to get their share. I don't care about the Guardian Cap. Just sell sky high.

J.K. Dobbins, RB, Denver Broncos

I believe I've had Dobbins on here earlier this season and last week solidifies that choice. Rookies take a while to get going and Denver finally let Harvey out for a test drive. Dobbins has that extensive injury history which is greatly concerning and the talent of Harvey breathing down his neck is undeniable. This isn't like Javonte Williams who has looked great in the lead role. Williams doesn't have nearly the talent behind him to be concerned in that regard but Dobbins does. Peyton will eventually start getting Harvey involved even more and Dobbins just played his lowest snap share of the season so far. Sell while you can.

Elic Ayomanor, WR, Tennessee Titans

I'm here from the future. The Elic hype is out of control especially after this week where he puts up 20+ points. You're going to want to hold and play but don't. Sell this guy high for someone more consistent and on a better team. People are getting reckless this time of year, especially in dynasty where they might be selling the farm to rebuild. Elic might have actual talent but it's not going to compare to like a Tee Higgins down the line or a desperate redraft owner who might even give up Ja'Marr Chase. Just figure out who you'd rather have and pull it.
