Fantasy Stock Market: Week 7

ree

We are almost halfway through the regular season and have just about four weeks left to consider trades. Most leagues including my dynasty have a week 11 trade deadline and that will be here before you know it. We are also starting to run out of candidates I haven't discussed ad nauseam. If you've been following this series thus far I greatly appreciate it and thank you. You would have bought Ja'Marr Chase and other Bengals dirt cheap along with Lamb, Pickens, Prescott, and Javonte Williams. You would have sold David Montgomery high and been rid of Tracy by now as well. This week is the injury buy low blowout sale so if you can just hold on like Drake said you can go home with a championship maybe, possibly, potentially.

BUY

Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Commanders

Terry has been out with a quad injury for a while now but there's optimism he makes it back in the near future. It seems the team is just being cautious in their approach at the moment. With Noah Brown on IR and Deebo also banged up, Terry will be just what the Commanders and your fantasy team needs down the stretch. He's dirt cheap and a lot of owners are getting frustrated in all formats, especially if their record suggests they can't afford to wait.

Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens

Ravens are on bye this week and we anticipate Jackson coming back after about four weeks of rest on an injured hamstring. The Ravens were off to a rough start even with Lamar but this is fantasy football we care about, not that team's real life record. Jackson is a fantasy stud and has been a consistent top performer for years. Same as Terry, a lot of owners are frustrated and probably can't afford to wait. If you can though, the end of season playoffs schedule for the Ravens should result in shootouts. Their defense is atrocious and they will be playing from behind almost all season as a result. With a strong offensive line and weapons, Lamar should hopefully regain his standing as the number one or two quarterback in fantasy.

Tyjae Spears, RB, Tennessee Titans

Spears is seeing his role increase every week since coming off IR. While the Titans are a wet fart of a team right now, Spears has been a consistently talented and explosive back showcasing way more juice than Pollard with his health being the biggest issue unfortunately. With Ridley out indefinitely, this team is in desperate need of playmakers and Spears is effective both as a rusher and pass catcher. Drawing up more looks and plays for Spears could reinvigorate this team and with the coach being canned recently, hopefully they start to wake up and end the regular season on a tear with some momentum.

SELL

Rico Dowdle, RB, Carolina Panthers

Before you have a conniption, this is mainly directed at my dynasty players. Dowdle is on a one year deal with the Panthers and chances of him being signed to anything long term after this are questionable at best. Chuba is the guy who just secured the long term deal for a decent chunk of cash this past offseason and is still under contract for the next three years. The draft capital invested into Brooks and their limited return due to injury makes them want to see what a healthy season can look like since his rookie contract he's on is dirt cheap. They also have Trevor ETN on a dirt cheap rookie contract and would like to see what he can do with further development as well. While Dowdle has been a huge over performer, this doesn't feel realistic long term and will probably disappoint you. Plus a healthy Chuba this week now turns this into a messy situation.

Whoever your filler piece has been on the 49ers

With Kittle back this week I think Bourne and Tonges will have much smaller and inconsistent roles. Jennings and Pearsall should also be back in the next few weeks and the 49ers will become a more dynamic offense. See if anyone thinks the injuries are likely to be long term or result in reinjury and get rid of these guys while the value is still there.

Darren Waller, TE, Miami Dolphins

Long time fans of Bettor in Green and those who regularly read and watch our content already know why Waller is on this list. Injury. I just don't think this is sustainable for him and has been a recurring story of his career for years. He has big games and then gets hurt and misses the rest of the season. I could most definitely be wrong and look like a fool, but I'm betting against Waller even after this three game stretch. He fumbled Plum and I think he fumbles away this opportunity soon too. I want to be wrong as he does have an inspiring real life story, but this is fantasy and we want fantasies to come true.
