Champions League Best Bets #5: League Phase Round 5 (Nov. 25, 2025 - Nov. 26, 2025):

ree

Welcome in to Champions League Best Bets, brought to you by Bettor In Green, where we recap the latest Champions League action and look ahead with my favorite bets for the upcoming matches.

Recap:

In Round 4 of the League Phase, we saw a few high-profile matches between some of Europe’s elite.

Liverpool got a 1-0 win over Real Madrid in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s return to Anfield. While it seemed like a return to form for a struggling Liverpool, they haven’t been able to find the same success in the Premier League.

In another big match, Bayern Munich managed a 1-2 win in Paris against PSG, despite a Luis Diaz red card late in the first half. Diaz did get Bayern’s only 2 goals before getting sent off.

Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Inter Milan stay perfect through the first 4 matches, while Benfica and Ajax continue their abysmal start, having lost their opening 4 matches.

We had a rough week for betting, going 0-3 this week. While I feel we were a bit unlucky to not get a Juventus comeback, Madrid never looked close and we lost both legs of our 2-leg parlay as Chelsea and Barça each only managed draws.

Upcoming Matches:

Round 5 kicks off with the two worst teams  facing one another as Ajax host Benfica.

We’ll also see a match between the current top 2, as Arsenal host Bayern Munich.

Other big matches this week include Chelsea hosting Barcelona, Atlético Madrid hosting Inter Milan, and a rematch of the UEFA Super Cup as PSG host Tottenham Hotspur.

Let’s get to the bets:

Best Bets:

Pick #1: Newcastle United to Win Either Half -135 (Nov. 25, 2025; 3:00 p.m. EST):

To start the season, I wasn’t expecting much from Newcastle, following their shambolic summer transfer window and lack of a sporting director.

However, Newcastle have surprised me, picking up some decent results in the Premier League and sitting 6th in the UCL standings with a 3-0-1 record.

They have a +8 goal differential in the UCL, scoring 10 and only conceding 2.

Newcastle will also have their UCL top scorer, Anthony Gordon, available in some capacity, as well as having Dan Burn back in the lineup who was suspended for their last EPL match against Manchester City.

Speaking of the match against City, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe said they’re riding the momentum from that game and had traveled to Marseille early to prepare for this match.

While Marseille are a good team with a great coach, they’re 2nd in Ligue 1 and just outside the playoff spots for the UCL. They may see this as the year to catch out PSG and slightly prioritize their performance in the domestic league.

One concerning aspect for this bet is Newcastle’s poor away form in the EPL (0-3-3), though they’ve won their only away match in the UCL this season.

Pick #2: Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) to Score or Assist +110 (Nov. 26, 2025; 3:00 p.m. EST):

For my next bet, I’m looking to a player prop, backing Harry Kane to score or assist against Arsenal.

Kane is having an incredible season, with 23 goals and 3 assists in all competitions this season. Bayern Munich are firing on all cylinders this year, with 16 wins, 1 draw, and no losses in all competitions.

While Arsenal have been incredible this season, particularly defensively, Harry Kane will be eager to score against his old North London rivals.

Harry Kane was cut from Arsenal’s academy as a youngster and has previously stated how that experience gave him some additional drive to improve, as well as a chip on his shoulder when playing Arsenal.

Playing at Tottenham for so many seasons, Arsenal were an even bigger rival for Kane. He’s scored 15 goals and had 2 assists in the 21 matches he’s played against them in his senior career.

Kane has his sights set on the Ballon d’Or this year and would love to add a goal against Arsenal to his already impressive start to the season.

Pick #3: 2-Leg Parlay: Real Madrid Moneyline and Liverpool Moneyline -110 (Nov. 26, 2025; 3:00 p.m. EST):

For my final bet, I’m taking a 2-leg parlay with Real Madrid and Liverpool each to win.

Real Madrid play Olympiacos away in this matchup and should be more than capable of getting the win on the road.

Olympiacos lead the Greek Super League but sit in 31st in the UCL standings, having yet to win. With their hopes of advancing in the UCL dwindling, they’ll have to prioritize their domestic league form, with PAOK breathing down their neck domestically.

Madrid have not won their last 3 matches and will need a match to right the ship. They have a relatively healthy squad with overwhelming quality and should be able to overwhelm Olympiacos with the likes of Mbappe and Bellingham.

Liverpool, the second leg, host PSV Eindhoven in this round.

While Liverpool have struggled as of late, this is the perfect opportunity to change the narrative, like they did against Real Madrid in the last round.

Despite their domestic woes, Anfield will turn up for a Champions League night and will still be one of the more difficult venues for opponents to play.

I’ve also seen numerous rumors about whether Arne Slot, Liverpool’s manager, will lose his job because of the form they’re in. While I think that’s a stretch and a bit ridiculous, a win in the UCL to stay in the top 8 would do wonders for dispelling those rumors.

Overall, these two squads have such an immense amount of money into them and have the quality to overcome their opponents. While anything is possible on a European night, these clubs have the pedigree and the weight of expectations to get the win.

Season Record:

League Phase: 8-4
