After sweeping the board on Monday, we tried to repeat that same success on Wednesday. Unfortunately, we fell just short, going 2-1 on the night. Tyrese Haliburton's under PRA and Jaren Jackson Jr.'s 20+ points were green, but Giannis Antetokounmpo couldn't get enough rebounds, despite an amazing all-around performance. However, the week has been a success and the cherry on top will be tonight. We have more NBA Cup games tonight across the NBA with several teams looking to take a commanding lead in their groups. The weekend has arrived and what better way to start it off than by winning some NBA bets?
Jayson Tatum 8+ Rebounds (-195)
The early MVP race has a shortlist of players vying for that award. One of those players is Jayson Tatum, who is trying to add an MVP award to his stellar resume. He is having a phenomenal season for the defending champion Boston Celtics, averaging almost 30 PPG and 8 RPG. The Celtics are going to be a title contender once again with Tatum being the catalyst.
His Celtics play against what most people consider the worst team in the NBA, the Washington Wizards. The Wizards have lost 9 in a row and are 2-11 for the season. They are clearly tanking and do not mind losing as many games as possible. They are at the bottom of so many defensive categories, but the one stat I want to exploit is their horrible rebounding.
The Wizards allow the 2nd-most RPG. They also rank as the worst team in RPG to power forwards. Earlier in the season, the Celtics steamrolled the Wizards, but Tatum still was able to finish with 11 rebounds that night. In his last 5 games, Tatum has hit this number in 4 of them. Tatum is by far the best rebounder on this Celtics squad and the Wizards will most likely try to get Al Horford, or any of the Celtics' centers, out on the perimeter. That should leave Tatum free to snag some rebounds from a Wizards team that is going to miss their fair share of shots.
