Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Adds: Week 4

week 4 fantasy football waiver wire

The draft is the foundation to a good fantasy team, but a championship team is active on the waiver wire to capitalize on shifting opportunity shares and emerging talent. Each week, I’ll give you a breakdown of my favorite adds in fantasy football. All players listed have to be rostered in under 50% of leagues to qualify for this list. All roster percentages from NFL Fantasy.

De’Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins, 17% owned

While I wouldn’t blow all my FAAB on Achane, I would aggressively pursue him. He won’t have another game like he did this past week, possibly in his career, but he has undeniable value. Raheem Mostert has been incredibly injury prone throughout his career and is 31 years old, which is well past a RBs prime. Achane is averaging 10.9 YPC with 19 touches on the season. While this number will drastically drop with more work. Achane proved he is a player the Dolphins need to utilize weekly. He is a flex RB with RB 1 upside if Mostert were to miss time.

Tank Dell, WR, Houston Texans, 9.6% owned

Tank has had touchdowns in back to back weeks and has played in over 60% of the snaps during that span. The Texans are throwing the ball all over the field. In fact, Stroud is 4th in the league in passing attempts. He is clearly one of the best receivers on the Texans and each week he’s showing he deserves more snaps. Tanks opportunity share will only increase as the season goes on and there are plenty of passing yards to go around.

Romeo Doubs, WR, Green Bay Packers, 12.5% owned

Doubs has finished as the WR 10 and WR 11 over the first three weeks of the season while seeing the top defensive attention. He has seen a high number of the offensive snaps and has 3 touchdowns over as many games. Watson should be returning soon allowing for lighter coverage while maintaining his healthy target share. Doubs can be a matchup dependent plug and play and valuable bye week filler.

Sam LaPorta, TE, Detroit Lions, 45.8% owned

LaPorta has finished as a TE 1 every week this season with an overall TE 1 on Week 3. He is seeing nearly 80% of the snaps and has had at least 5 catches in each game this season. LaPorta is second on the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yardage proving to be a valuable weapon to Jared Goff. LaPorta is a startable weekly option at perhaps the shallowest position in fantasy.

Weekly Waiver Trap!

DJ Chark, WR, Carolina Panthers, 7.1% owned

Did you know Chark played 94% of the snaps and finished with almost 20 points this week?! Chark was horribly inefficient catching only 4 of his 11 targets. He was also playing with Andy Dalton who is only filling in for a short time. Bryce Young only targeted him once in the only game they played in together. Chark has notoriously been unable to stay healthy throughout his career. I’m passing on a WR that will be up and down and spend the season on my bench.
