NFL Week 2 - DFS Values & Plays

Week 2 NFL DFS

Take advantage of the percentage a player is owned! The higher a player's exposure, the better you have to be at choosing other positions. Try to mix in different exposures to create your own unique lineup. Previous millionaire winners have a total ownership percentage of 100.56% each week, and the range between 75%-125% is recommended to increase your chances of winning.

QB: Drake Maye, $5,200 (7.88% Ownership)

Maye struggled in Week 1, which gives us a discount in both salary and ownership heading into this slate. He draws Miami, who just gave up the 4th-most yards last week. The bottom 5 defenses in yards allowed includes matchups against Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, Lamar Jackson, Daniel Jones, and Jalen Hurts — and it was Jones, of all people, who lit up the Dolphins with nearly 300 passing yards and 2 rushing scores. This sets up as an ideal game script for Maye: either Miami continues to give away field position and opportunities, or they bounce back offensively and force a shootout. Either way, Maye offers real upside at this price point.

RB: Travis Etienne, $5,700 (7.25% Ownership)

Etienne is officially back. Jacksonville showed their confidence in him by shipping Tank Bigsby to Philadelphia, leaving Etienne as the clear lead back with Tuten now in the No. 2 role. He handled 19 touches and ripped off a 71-yard run on his way to averaging nearly 9 yards per carry. Those numbers will naturally regress, but the matchup against a weak Bengals defense sets him up for another big performance. With the public still sleeping on Etienne’s resurgence, this price point is a great spot to take advantage before it corrects.

WR: DeVonta Smith, $5,600 (6.71% Ownership)

Both Smith and AJ Brown struggled in Week 1, but I’m targeting the value on Smith for a bounce-back. Kansas City was one of just three defenses to give up 300+ passing yards, and outside of McDuffie their secondary looked lost, making costly mistakes against the Chargers. Early-season miscommunications should continue to benefit opposing WRs, especially ones with elite talent. Smith played on 89% of snaps last week and should remain heavily involved. I predict him to have around 6+ catches and 70+ yards with clear touchdown upside.

TE: Tyler Warren, $4,500 (5.00% Ownership)

The Colts cruised last week, and Warren looked every bit as good as advertised. Things get tougher against Denver, one of the league’s top defenses, but their strength lies in Surtain and the secondary. That sets up perfectly for Warren, who can be featured over the middle against linebackers while Jones and Taylor handle the run game. Despite tying for 2nd among TEs in both targets and receptions, Warren is still flying under the radar in ownership, making him a strong pivot at the position.
